On September 19, 2025, the entire staff of JP Romero Dental Group came togetherfor a vital training seminar led by Gregorio Lombos Jimenez from the Parañaque City Health Office – Health Emergency Management Services (HEMS), whose mission is to equip healthcare providers and community workers with the knowledge and skills needed to save lives during both medical and large-scale emergencies.
This training represents our commitment not only to dental excellence, but also to patient and community safety.
A Life-Saving Skill for Every Setting
The BLS seminar was more than just a refresher—it was a practical, hands-on program that emphasized both clinical and urban emergency response.
- Clinical Preparedness: Staff practiced the proper execution of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and patient stabilization in a clinical environment.
- Urban Disaster Readiness: In anticipation of natural disasters such as the possible “Big One” earthquake linked to the Philippine Trench, staff learned to perform CPR and first aid in less-than-ideal conditions—using everyday household or office items as makeshift medical tools when no formal supplies are available.
Participants also reviewed disaster survival principles, including identifying safe zones during an earthquake, ensuring personal safety before assisting others, and coordinating with emergency services.
